REEL STYLE: THREE MEN AND A BABY

The year is 1987. Three Men and a Baby has just hit theaters.

Some immediate questions: Is this how men were meant to live? Is this how every man lived? How much did cartoonists make in 1987? Was this film sponsored by Gerber? Is this real life?

Who knows, who cares, please enjoy the below tour of an insane, cinematic and iconic bachelor pad from the 80s.

Starting off with the bedroom of Michael, the cartoonist. Major restraint shown in its furniture and color choices…

Memphis Design has exploded across the room, with no inch safe from expression. The “First” Chair by Michele De Lucchi is the star.

The game room is really special. 80s deco, spotlights, arcade details, plus a Flavin neon reference?

Despite there being a completely glassed-in corridor through the doors (pretty sweet curved glass ceiling), the game room is a true man-cave, lacking any natural light.

There kitchen is full-on greenhouse. Pretty incredible departure from the previous two rooms.

And their plants are THRIVING. Not only in the kitchen, but throughout the entire penthouse. Clear giveaway that they were going to be great at taking care of a baby.

The rest of the maze that is their apartment continues with the hits It pretty clear that Mr. Selleck was the moneymaker of the group.

Please enjoy his (1) grand headboard, (2) glassed-in gym, and (3) triptych TV sports room (with quite possibly every single NBA Finals on VHS).
